FIVE LUCKY FINALISTS GO THROUGH TO THE NEXT STAGE OF LIDL FIT FACTOR!
April 2012: Five luck schools across Ireland are celebrating after being chosen as a regional winners of the Lidl Fit Factor, a fun competition designed to promote healthy eating and physical activity, developed in conjunction with the Irish Heart Foundation.
Each finalist now goes through to the next stage of the Lidl Fit Factor where they will compete for the first prize of €5,000 worth of sports equipment vouchers and the honour of being crowned ‘Lidl Fit Factor Champions’.
The finalists are St Patrick's National School, Diswellstown, Dublin 15; Ballaghlea National School, Ballygar, Co. Galway; Clonmore National School, Templemore, Co. Tipperary; Ballynacargy National School, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and Brannoxtown National School, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare. Already, each school has won a bonus of €1,000 worth of sports equipment vouchers and Lidl shopping vouchers.
Each finalist now goes head to head to compete for online votes and they need your help. All you have to do is log onto www.fitfactor.ie and follow the link to register your vote. Voting opens on Monday 23rd of April and finishes at Friday 18th of May at 5pm.
The overall winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- 40% on the number of votes received.
- 60% on the decision of the independent judging panel, consisting of high calibre personalities 2FM DJ Hector O hEochagain, Kevin McLaughlin, Ireland and Leinster Rugby, Eoin Kelly from the Tipperary hurling team and representatives of both the Irish Heart Foundation and Lidl Ireland.
Fantastic runners up prizes are also at stake with 2nd place receiving €3,000; and 3rd place €2,000 worth of sports equipment vouchers.
Over 20,000 3rd and 4th class pupils took part in the Lidl Fit Factor, which was designed to help teach aspects of the SPHE curriculum in a fun and enjoyable manner.
